The two-motor design of this system incorporates one motor inside and one outside, allowing the indoor motor to operate at slower speeds, which significantly reduces indoor sound levels. Both motors are permanently lubricated for quieter operation and enhanced durability. The 3-speed fan, available in cooling and heating modes, features nearly five times the surface area of a typical PTAC fan, resulting in more uniform airflow over a wider path, promoting faster and more even air distribution while maintaining quieter airflow. A soft start/stop fan delay minimizes transitional noise typically associated with compressor start-up. The models achieve Energy Efficiency Ratios (EERs) of up to 12.0 and Coefficients of Performance (COPs) of up to 3.4, with separate thermostat limits for cooling and heating that provide greater temperature control. Centralized desk control and compatibility with energy management systems further enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs. The universal heater/power cord facilitates installation and allows installers to easily change the heat output by swapping the standard power cord to the desired size. The optional cords connect conveniently like a phone jack, enabling distributors to stock fewer PTAC models and optional power cords instead of a wide range of PTAC models. Note that all wiring and building connections must be appropriately sized for the power cord; consult model specifications for details. Wall sleeves and wall sleeve grilles are sold separately, and the unit includes a 30 amp power cord along with corrosion-resistant coils.
