The ZX-Series large spindle bore lathe offers power, precision, efficiency, and reliability, designed for metal shops. This lathe features a one-piece cast iron base that absorbs vibrations during operation, allowing for heavier cuts and maintaining accuracy. The universal gearbox eliminates the need to change gears while enabling inch, metric, diametral, and module pitch threads. Key specifications include a 3-1/8 bore spindle supported by two tapered and one ball bearing, hardened chrome molybdenum headstock gears, and high-quality ANSI class 50 wear-resistant cast iron bed ways that are hardened and ground. The removable gap accommodates up to 25-7/8 inches in diameter on 16 models and up to 27-1/2 inches on 18 models. Additional features include a carriage with one-shot lubrication, Turcite B on bed sliding surfaces, a T-slotted compound slide with a four-way tool post, a five-position automatic carriage stop for increased productivity, and an attractive finish with chrome control levers, dials, and knobs. The kit includes a 10 3-jaw scroll chuck with top reversing jaws, a 12-inch face plate for 16 models, a 16-inch face plate for 18 models, a four-way tool post, follow rest, large capacity steady rest, fully integrated coolant system, full-length splash guard and coolant return, a large easy-to-use foot brake, and an articulating halogen work lamp. Centrally located controls feature a jog button, and a tolerance test certificate is included.
