Mill drills are a lighter alternative to a milling machine, combining a belt-driven drill press with the dual coordinate capabilities of a milling machine's table for enhanced flexibility and efficiency. The kit includes features such as a one-piece cast iron column for added support, a belt cover quick slide latch for faster belt adjustment to change spindle speeds, a base taper for easier clean-up, and larger hand wheel knobs. The machine is equipped with a UL listed motor, an extra-large worktable, and heavy-duty tapered roller bearings that support the spindle, providing greater tolerance and more accurate drilling depth. Additionally, it features a new positive quick-stop knob and an easy-to-read internal depth gauge (external on JMD-15), along with a 360° head swivel and heavy-duty power downfeed with a manual fine feed (JMD-18PFN). The JMD-18PFN variant offers three power down feeds (.004, .007, .01). The kit also includes a worklamp, adjustable carbide facemill, drill press angle vise, 1/2 drill chuck, chuck arbor, and draw bar. The machines comply with relevant certifications and specifications, providing a robust solution for light machining tasks.
