The KDW features a textured frame and bead designed for suitable application of drywall joint compound to effectively conceal the flange, with prepunched holes in the flange that facilitate fastening to framing members using drywall screws. The trim is constructed from galvanized steel drywall bead. Key features of the KDW include a concealed, continuous piano hinge, with latches available as either flush and screwdriver operated or as a key operated cylinder lock equipped with an automatic dust shutter. The finish is a prime coat of rust inhibitive electrostatic powder, baked grey enamel, ensuring durability. The frame is made of 16 GA steel, while the door is made from 14 GA steel.
