Elesa® original design technopolymer plastic domed gear lever knobs are EN 719.2 compliant and are frequently used as an alternative to DIN 319 ball knobs on gear levers and shafts, chosen primarily for their ergonomic benefits. The knobs come in two mounting types: press-on and tapped. Press-on type knobs are installed by driving them onto a gear lever shaft with a plastic hammer and do not require a threaded shaft; it is recommended that the shaft end be slightly rounded or chamfered at a 30° angle. The tapped type knobs are temperature resistant up to 80°C (175°F), while the press-on type is temperature resistant up to 50°C (120°F). Additional colors are available upon request.
