The Hammar H20E for Cat 1 EPIRBs is designed to automatically release the EPIRB when the vessel sinks, utilizing a mechanism activated by increasing water pressure. It features a specially developed plastic bolt to secure the EPIRB in place, which is cut upon activation of the hydrostatic release unit (HRU). The release depth ranges from 1.5 to 4.0 meters, and the device has a disposable weight of 115 grams. It is important to note that the bolt, nut, and washers must be replaced when installing a new Hammar H20E. The Hammar H20E holds certifications including USCG-SOLAS approval, BV, MED, and USCG.
