Bloodstop® IX is a new generation hemostat matrix made from water soluble, oxidized-etherified regenerated cellulose, designed for use by medical professionals and hospitals. This fully biocompatible, non-irritating, woven matrix of fibers incorporates natural plant components that adhere to any wound. Upon contact with blood, it initiates blood coagulation rapidly, stops bleeding, and forms a protective layer that facilitates an optimal environment for wound healing. Its water solubility ensures easy removal through rinsing, without disturbing the clotted wound surface. Bloodstop® IX activates the intrinsic coagulation pathway to accelerate clot formation and is applicable in internal surgery in countries recognizing the European Union Class III CE certification. With EU Class IIB CE certification for surface wound hemostasis, it is also suitable for treating patients on anticoagulant medications. In the United States, Bloodstop® IX has received FDA 510k market clearance for surface wound hemostasis, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards for safety and efficacy.
