The SAS-1 articulating heavy-duty industrial-type boom stand features a 20mm diameter drop-down mounting post designed to complement the EMZ (Zoom), EMT (Turret), and EMF (Fixed) series stereo microscopes. The stand includes a lift articulating arm that provides a total reach of 31 inches from the center of the vertical pole to the center of the focus block, with approximately 15 inches of vertical travel and plus/minus 7.5 inches from horizontal, controlled by an adjustable gas spring counterbalance that supports "free floating" of objects weighing up to 20 lbs. An ambidextrous vertical position lock is also included, and the arm is compatible with industry-standard 5/8" "Bonder" pin focus blocks when an optional OS-LAEA is utilized. This design enables smooth left to right horizontal and vertical movement, allowing for easy navigation over the work surface without the binding commonly found in other boom stands. The SAS-1 has a sturdy solid metal base measuring 13 inches x 13 inches x 1.5 inches and weighing 80 lbs., equipped with heavy-duty rubber feet and ergonomic handles. It is equipped with a 406.4mm (16") vertical pole, offering minimal space requirements while providing maximum stability for EM stereo systems.
