The General Wire 2" float model Flood Guard, 2F, operates like a check valve to effectively seal off water back-up caused by overloaded sewers. Under normal conditions, water flows through the drain until a sewer back-up occurs, at which point the Flood-Guard float rises to seal off the drain opening until the water recedes. Installation is straightforward and requires only a screwdriver and a few minutes. The Flood-Guard is designed to prevent property damage and minimize clean-up efforts. It features gaskets made of molded rubber, and all metal components are either plated or made of stainless steel. This model is specifically designed to fit 2" pipes, ensuring compatibility with common drainage systems.
