The General Wire 4" Float Model Flood Guard - 4F functions as a check valve to prevent water backup caused by overloaded sewers, allowing normal water flow through the drain until a backup occurs. When this happens, the Flood-Guard float rises to seal off the drain opening until the water level recedes. Installation is straightforward and requires only a screwdriver and a few minutes of time.
