The H-B® B61800-1000 Durac® 4/26.5% salt brine hydrometer is a shatterproof plastic instrument designed for measuring sodium chloride saturation in salt brines, with a weight composition of 4/26.5%. Constructed from optical quality polycarbonate material, this durable hydrometer is ideal for field use where breakage is a risk. Measuring 300mm (12") in length, it features a lead-free ballast and is capable of assessing salt content levels ranging from 0% to 100%. The hydrometer includes an easy-to-read black scale on a yellow background to minimize eye fatigue, and each unit is individually serialized with a temperature standardization point of 60°F (15°C). It is manufactured and hand-inspected by a U.S. quality team in an ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and A2LA accredited calibration laboratory, which is recognized by the ILAC/MRA signatory economies, and produced in a facility registered under ISO 14001:2004 environmental management standards. Additionally, each hydrometer is packaged with a multi-language statement of accuracy (English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish) that indicates NIST traceable accuracy. Note that polycarbonate hydrometers are not suitable for use with petroleum-based liquids or corrosives that may affect the material and should be stored properly in clean, dry conditions to avoid extreme temperatures.
