Metchem 6550 is a medium-duty, bio-stable synthetic machining and grinding coolant specifically designed for use with mixed metals, including compatibility with aircraft aluminums, copper alloys, and yellow metals. This unique formulation combines corrosion inhibitors, surfactants, and anti-wear agents, providing exceptional fine settling, rust protection, and detergency to most metals. The coolant is suitable for both individual sumps and central systems, and it does not contain petroleum oil, chlorine, or sulfur. Key features include non-staining properties on all aluminum alloys, exceptional rust protection on steel surfaces, a bio-stable formulation that reduces the need for biocide additions, non-foaming characteristics at high pressures, compatibility with all types of water, and an exceptionally clean running coolant that promotes long tool life and high surface finishes. It also boasts extremely long sump life and outstanding fine settling properties. Metchem 6550 is applicable in various machining processes, including CNC machining, drilling, grinding, general machining, milling (profiling), flood sawing, tapping, and turning.
