GN 62 magnets feature a split magnetic surface and are constructed as non-shielded magnetic systems through a casting process. To maintain optimal magnetic forces, it is essential that the mounting screws are composed of non-magnetic materials. These magnets are equipped with an iron plate on their magnetic surface for easier handling and to prevent demagnetization. The magnets are temperature resistant up to 535 °F (280 °C), while the red lacquered finish is temperature resistant up to 355 °F (180 °C).
