The Watts 0559101 1/2" tempering control valve is a lead-free hot water control valve specifically designed for installation on water heating equipment to deliver tempered water to point-of-use fixtures, making it suitable for radiant heat applications. This valve features a double throttling design that integrates hot and cold water control, ensuring a sensitive response to water temperature fluctuations within the mixing chamber. Constructed with a lead-free brass body, it includes threaded union connections, a solid wax hydraulic principle thermostat, integral filter washers, and check valves. It also offers virtual shutoff upon loss of cold water supply and a locking mechanism for maintaining the temperature setting. The valve has a maximum pressure of 150 psi (10.3 bar) and allows for an adjustable field range temperature between 90 to 160 degrees F (32 to 71 degrees C).
