The Thermo Scientific™ Locator 6 rack and box system is designed to economically store up to 6,000 samples while ensuring simple sample retrieval and minimal liquid nitrogen consumption. The compact design maximizes storage capacity while minimizing space requirements, making it suitable for both manual and computerized inventory record-keeping methods. Samples can be stored below -180°C, even with less than 2" (5cm) of liquid nitrogen remaining in the vessel. An optional ultrasonic level monitor is available to safeguard irreplaceable samples by minimizing liquid nitrogen evaporation and conduction, featuring an audible alarm that sounds when the nitrogen level falls below a safe range. The advanced vacuum insulation further reduces liquid nitrogen evaporation and operating costs, and the system includes indexed stainless-steel racks designed for use with 2 in. (5cm) Thermo Scientific™ Nalgene™ cryogenic boxes, with larger racks available for the storage of 5.0ml ampules. It is important to note that Nalgene cryogenic boxes need to be ordered separately, and the system will not ship to residential addresses.
