Thermo Scientific™ Precision high-performance incubators with advanced microprocessor controls are designed for applications requiring excellent temperature distribution or gentle sample heating between 5°C above ambient to 65°C. The incubators feature uniform heating, precise temperature control with fast drying, and employ a blower to circulate heated air in a horizontal airflow pattern, achieving tight temperature tolerances of up to 0.5°C. Gravity convection offers gentle drying, utilizing heat-generated convection to move air vertically through the chamber for efficient sample heating. Each incubator is supplied with 6 shelves, with a total capacity of 36 shelves (18 per side), and additional shelves can be purchased separately (model # AY2076X1). Advanced microprocessor PID controls include an easy-to-read digital LED display, allowing temperature settings from 5°C above ambient to up to 75°C (depending on the model) in 0.1°C increments via touch-sensitive arrow keys. The control panel features fixed setpoints to eliminate the need for tuning and an offset feature for easy calibration. Built-in safety mechanisms maintain control at 3°C above setpoint in case of primary heater control failure, and a visual alarm alerts users when the temperature exceeds the setpoint by 3°C. The robust construction includes an inner glass door for unobtrusive sample viewing, a silicone gasket on the outer door, and 7.6 cm (3 in.)-thick fiberglass insulation to prevent heat loss and ensure high-temperature uniformity. The incubator also features a circuit breaker for protection against power surges and a durable enamel-coated steel exterior.
