The Norton 66252843212 BlueFire grinding and cutting wheel measures 4-1/2" x 1/8" x 7/8" and is made from zirconia/alumina oxide. This depressed center wheel, also known as a raised hub wheel or type 27 wheel, is specifically designed for various grinding and cutting applications. Its unique design allows the flange or lock nut to recess within the wheel, facilitating its use in severe right angle grinding tasks, including heavy stock removal and rough blending. Additionally, this wheel has been optimized for cut-off applications, making it suitable for use with both large right angle grinders (7" & 9") and smaller mini grinders that accommodate 4", 4-1/2", and 5" wheels. The wheel offers 2-3 times the life of aluminum oxide wheels and features a 20% increase in performance and longevity, making it ideal for offhand cut-off, notching, and cleaning pipes and weld beads, particularly in foundry environments.
