GN 738 magnetic plugs are designed to attract iron particles that may be suspended in liquids, featuring a magnetic pin that is constructed to prevent self-demagnetization. To ensure durability and maintain magnetization, the round rod magnets are encased in a plastic protection tube, which must be removed prior to installation. The plug incorporates a seal that is retained in a radial undercut on the mating face, effectively preventing it from dropping out or extruding when tightened. This design allows for the use of a softer sealing material, providing enhanced sealing capabilities. The NBR seal used has a maximum heat resistance of 120°C (250°F).
