The kit includes 10 lbs of melamine plastic grit with a 20/30 grit size, recognized as the most aggressive plastic abrasive for quickly stripping soft metals. It is specifically formulated to clean, strip, and de-burr soft metal substrates without generating heat that could warp the surface. In addition to its primary functions, melamine is effective in removing paint, oxidation, and some surface rust. One of the key features of melamine is that it produces very little dust, which enhances visibility when used in a blast cabinet. This material is typically employed in a blast cabinet or in applications where the abrasive is being recycled.
