The lockout kit is designed to prevent gate valve handles from being turned without authority, featuring a hinged clamshell housing that fully encloses the valve handle to keep unauthorized access at bay. Constructed from tough plastic in a bright hazard red color, it includes a shackle hole for securing with a padlock, which is sold separately. A unique pry guard design inhibits the insertion of a screwdriver between the halves for prying apart, while a center thinner area facilitates easy drilling and attachment on rising stem gate valves. The kit comes with a safety label featuring red diagonal hazard stripes, providing space for pertinent lockout information. Its red octagon shape reinforces the lockout status and conveys a stop message. The device meets compliance requirements in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147 and is designed to fit valve handles sized between 10" and 13".
