The gate valve lockout kit is designed to prevent the valve handle from being turned without proper authorization. The kit includes a hinged clamshell housing that fully encloses the valve handle, effectively preventing unauthorized access. Constructed from tough plastic in a bright hazard red color, it features a shackle hole for securing with a padlock (padlock sold separately). The unique pry guard design eliminates the possibility of inserting a screwdriver between the halves to pry them apart. Additionally, a center thinner area allows for easy drilling through and attachment on rising stem gate valves. The kit also comes with a safety label that includes red diagonal hazard stripes and space for pertinent lockout information, while the red octagon shape reinforces the lockout status and conveys a clear stop indication. This device meets compliance requirements in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147 and fits valve handle sizes ranging from 2 1/2" to 5".
