These gasket strips are made from silicone foam, which displays excellent resistance to high and low temperatures and is a long-lasting material that returns to its shape after compression longer than other foam materials. The textured skin provides increased grip. Common characteristics include a wide operating temperature range, compression set resistance, resistance to UV and ozone, extreme resilience to mechanical fatigue, and good chemical and water resistance. Applications for these strips include gaskets, heat shields, fire stops, cushions, and insulation for a wide variety of uses.
