The kit includes rubber gloves that are electrically tested and stamped with the initial test date, and are newly tested before shipment. These gloves must be put into use within 12 months of the test date, and once issued for use, they require retesting within 6 months from the date they are distributed to employees. They should be worn with 10-inch leather glove protectors, which help increase the lifespan of the rubber voltage gloves; the leather protectors are not required to be marked with a date. The gloves are Class 00 rated, with a maximum use voltage of 500V AC and 750V DC, and provide arc flash protection. The gloves comply with NFPA 70E, CSA Z462, and ANSI/ASTM D120 standards, Class 00, Type 1.
