The Forney Series auto-darkening welding helmets are designed for the experienced do-it-yourselfer (DIY), light contractor, farmer, and rancher, prioritizing ease of use, reliability, and value. The lightweight, impact-resistant, fireproof shell features dual crown strap headgear with multi-directional adjustment for enhanced comfort, as well as a quick-fit, 5-point adjustable geared headband with a sweatband mechanism to reduce head, neck strain, and fatigue during welding operations. The helmets offer a viewing area of 5.97 square inches (3.62" x 1.65") with high definition true color clarity for a more natural viewing experience, and two optical arc sensors for protection against arc flash hazards. They have a 1/1/1/2 optical clarity rating, UV/IR coating to minimize lens scratching and discoloration, an external shade selector knob with a grind option for quick shade adjustments, and internal switch controls for sensitivity (high-low) and delay (min.-max.), safeguarding against accidental adjustments. The variable shade selection ranges from DIN 9 to 13, with TIG operability down to 5 amps and a switching speed of 1/25,000 per second, powered by solar cells with non-replaceable 3V lithium batteries (CR2032) and automatic on/off technology.
