E7018 AC mild steel "low hydrogen" welding rods are specifically designed to produce quality results on smaller amperage AC/DC welders and are suitable for all positions on hardenable steels where no pre-heat is utilized, as well as on cold rolled steels that typically display excessive porosity when welded with conventional rods. The low hydrogen content of these rods minimizes the risk of cracking and peeling of the weld material, ensuring a more durable bond. Key features include excellent restart capability and the capability of welding low, medium, and high carbon steels, in addition to some higher strength low alloy steels. These rods are ideal for applications such as frames, trailer hitches, and chassis construction.
