The E7018 AC mild steel "low hydrogen" welding rods are designed for use with smaller amperage AC/DC welders, providing quality results across all positions on hardenable steels without pre-heating and on cold rolled steels that typically show high porosity with conventional rods. The low hydrogen content significantly reduces the potential for cracking and peeling in the weld material. These rods feature excellent restart capability and are suitable for welding low, medium, and high carbon steels, along with certain higher strength low alloy steels. They are particularly ideal for applications involving frames, trailer hitches, and chassis.
