Makita® has introduced a new class of cordless tools with the 18V LXT® sub-compact series, offering 12V handling with 18V run time and compatibility with the largest 18V lithium-ion cordless tool system globally. The 18V LXT® sub-compact brushless 3/8" square drive impact wrench, model XWT12ZB, is designed for tight spaces and overhead applications. It features an efficient Makita® BL™ brushless motor that provides up to 50% longer run time, increased power, speed, and tool longevity. The wrench operates with a variable two-speed setting of 0-1,300/0-2,400 RPM and 0-2,000/0-3,600 IPM, delivering a maximum torque of 130 ft.lbs. The compact design and lower weight reduce operator fatigue, especially when used overhead. A reverse rotation auto-stop mode is included to halt rotation and impact once the fastener is adequately loosened. Additional features include a variable speed trigger, built-in L.E.D. lights, and a 3/8" square drive for quick socket changes. The tool is equipped with Makita® Extreme Protection Technology (XPT™), which protects against water and dust ingress for improved performance in harsh conditions. It is part of the expanding 18V LXT® system, known for having the fastest charge times in its category, allowing for more work time and less downtime on the charger. Additionally, Makita® has implemented Star Protection Computer Controls™, enabling real-time data exchange between the tool and battery to prevent overloading, over-discharging, and overheating. The tool is compatible with both Makita® 18V LXT® and compact lithium-ion batteries.
