This unique media is an analytical purity grade cellulose-based non-sterile paper designed for conveying powder or gelatinous paste samples to and from balances and instruments. The material possesses sufficient structural integrity to resist tearing during quadrant folding or enveloping, and its highly calendered (non-treated gloss) surface provides smoothness that resists sample hold or moisture absorption. Additionally, the surface texture enhances abrasion durability during spatula scraping, and the media demonstrates excellent lot-to-lot reproducibility. Material chemistries are verified against a standard using GC techniques prior to the paper-making process. Other applications of this media include serving as slip sheets between samples and slides, providing short-term exposure as a moisture barrier, functioning as liners within containers, and acting as laminating backing for structural support.
