The kit includes tissue culture treated plates designed to enhance cell adhesion, labeled with alpha-numeric markings for easy identification of individual wells. Each well is equipped with a raised rim that nests into the rings on the single direction lid, effectively reducing evaporation and limiting the risk of cross-contamination. The lids feature a stacking capability for added stability during handling of tall stacks of plates. The 1 well plate shares the same footprint as standard multiple well plates and is suitable for high volume and robotic screening of DNA libraries as well as manual plating, also allowing for dot-blotting bacterial clones on 11.4 x 7.3 cm (4.5 x 2.875 in) nylon membranes. The 4 well plate provides a smaller footprint option, with well sizes comparable to a 24 well plate, while offering expanded well spacing to minimize cross-contamination. Additionally, 384 well plates are well-suited for automated applications, colorimetric assays, compound storage, or small volume applications.
