The kit includes tissue culture treated plates designed to enhance cell adhesion, with alpha-numeric markings on each plate for easy identification of individual wells. Each well features a raised rim that nests into the rings of the single direction lid, which minimizes evaporation and reduces the risk of cross-contamination. The lids are designed with a stacking feature for added stability when managing tall stacks of plates. The 1 well plate has the same footprint as standard multiple well plates and is suitable for high volume and robotic screening of DNA libraries as well as manual plating; it is also compatible with dot-blotting bacterial clones on 11.4 x 7.3 cm (4.5 x 2.875 in) nylon membranes. The 4 well plate offers a more compact footprint with well sizes comparable to that of a 24 well plate, while providing expanded well spacing to further reduce cross-contamination. The 384 well plates are optimized for automated applications, colorimetric assays, compound storage, and small volume applications.
