The kit includes plates labeled with alpha-numeric markings for easy identification of individual wells, with each well featuring a raised rim that nests into the rings on the single direction lid to reduce evaporation and minimize the risk of cross contamination. The lids are designed with a stacking feature for added stability when handling tall stacks of plates. The 1 well plate has a footprint equivalent to standard multiple well plates, making it suitable for high volume and robotic screening of DNA libraries as well as manual plating; it is also appropriate for dot-blotting bacterial clones on 11.4 x 7.3 cm (4.5 x 2.875 in) nylon membranes. The 4 well plate is a compact option with well sizes similar to a 24 well plate, but features expanded well spacing to reduce cross contamination. The 384 well plates are optimal for automated applications, colorimetric assays, compound storage, or small volume applications. Additionally, the 96 well non-treated plate is now available in a 5/pack configuration for large-scale users.
