The kit includes plates labeled with alpha-numeric markings for easy identification of individual wells, with each well featuring a raised rim that nests into the rings on a single direction lid to reduce evaporation and limit the risk of cross-contamination. The lids are designed with a stacking feature for added stability when handling tall stacks of plates. A 1 well plate maintains the same footprint as standard multiple well plates, making it suitable for high volume and robotic screening of DNA libraries as well as manual plating; it is also compatible with dot-blotting bacterial clones on 11.4 x 7.3 cm (4.5 x 2.875 in) nylon membranes. For a more compact option, the 4 well plate offers a well size similar to that of a 24 well plate but with expanded well spacing to minimize cross-contamination. The 384 well plates are optimized for automated applications, colorimetric assays, compound storage, or small volume applications. Additionally, a 96 well non-treated plate is available in a pack of 5 for large-scale users.
