The JWDS-2244 drum sander from JET is powered by a 1.75 horsepower motor, designed to tackle a wide range of sanding tasks efficiently. It features an innovative tool-less parallelism system that simplifies adjustments, allowing users to easily position the worktable with a turn of the parallelism dial. The sanding process is enhanced by a variable-speed rate of up to 10 feet per minute, enabling optimal feed rates for various projects, while the SandSmart feature continuously monitors the load on the drum motor to prevent overload situations. The dust hood's mirrored design optimizes dust collection, directing chips and dust to a 4" collection port. The precision-machined and dynamically balanced extruded aluminum drum dissipates heat effectively, protecting the work surface, while the precision-flattened reinforced steel conveyor bed enhances stability. The redesigned conveyor system pulls the workpiece through the sander, and one full rotation of the top-position handwheel adjusts the drum height by 1/16". A relative depth scale on the handwheel allows for easy resetting and measurement of depth for different projects, and the toolless abrasive take-up clips facilitate quick and easy abrasive changes. Additionally, snipe is virtually eliminated, ensuring high-quality finishes.
