Introducing the new JWDS-2550 drum sander from JET, featuring a 1.75 horsepower motor that provides ample power for various sanding tasks. This model incorporates an innovative tool-less parallelism system, allowing for easy worktable adjustments via the parallelism dial. The sander's variable-speed control enables users to select an optimal feed rate of up to 10 feet per minute, accommodating a wide range of projects. The SandSmart feature continuously monitors the load on the drum motor, automatically regulating the conveyor motor's speed to prevent overload. The mirrored design of the dust hood enhances dust collection efficiency by channeling chips and dust to the 4" collection port. Key specifications include a precision-machined and dynamically balanced extruded aluminum drum designed to dissipate heat and protect the work surface, as well as a precision-flattened reinforced steel conveyor bed. The redesigned conveyor system pulls the workpiece through the sander, and one rotation of the top-position handwheel adjusts the drum height by 1/16", with a relative depth scale for easy resetting and measuring. Additionally, tool-less abrasive take-up clips simplify abrasive changes, while snipe is virtually eliminated.
