The Powermatic PM2014 Lathe is designed for dedicated woodworkers, featuring a motor that requires only a 115-volt single-phase input while delivering consistent torque with a 1 HP, 230-volt, and 3-phase output using an inverter. It boasts the most adjustable height within the Powermatic family, allowing the centerline to be set from 34 inches to 46 inches for improved control and comfort. The magnetic control box displays both digital speed and indexing, with the capability to be relocated for convenience and safety. The lathe includes 24 positive locking indexing positions on the repositionable magnetic control box for simplified indexing, while the sliding headstock and removable tailstock facilitate easy outboard turning. Constructed with a cast iron bed, it minimizes motor vibration for reduced noise and enhanced precision. It offers variable speeds ranging from 15 RPM to 3600 RPM, with constant motor torque monitoring provided by the inverter. The lathe can be easily disassembled for improved portability and features acme threads on the tailstock for smoother operation and longevity. Included in the package are an 8-inch tool rest with a 1-inch post, an attached tool caddy for easy access to centers, wrenches, and accessories, a banjo with a non-marring, pinch-style clamp for secure tool rest placement, and chrome-trimmed hand wheels designed for ergonomic comfort. A main power disconnect on the rear of the headstock provides added safety.
