Fifth wheel steering describes a type of steering where the front wheels and axle assembly pivot on a center point, referred to as the fifth wheel, allowing wagon trucks to encounter less friction when turning compared to swivel caster designs, making them easier to maneuver under heavier load conditions, particularly when using softer, wider pneumatic wheels on rough or uneven surfaces. These wagon trucks can be either pulled or pushed and feature a T-handle with vinyl handgrips for two-man operation. The construction includes a heavy 12 gauge reinforced steel deck with a 6" retaining lip, full 1-inch diameter axles with roller bearing wheels, and a structural channel undercarriage designed for heavier loads and enhanced durability. The 6" lips on the steel decks provide additional carrying capacity.
