The BPV Series Bullet® piercing valves are designed to fit O.D. tubing sizes of 1/4", 5/16", and 3/8". They utilize a gasket similar to those found under the heads of most air conditioning compressors, which compresses the copper tubing by .020" upon installation, creating a permanent, leakproof seal capable of withstanding high pressure and temperature for the unit's lifespan. The patented valve gasket application offers 50 times more sealing area compared to competitive "O" ring types, delivering a sealing force of over 180 lbs., with torque testing at 500 lbs. and pressure testing at 250°F. The precision piercing needle is engineered for concentricity and hardness, ensuring perfect seating with every use. This non-positional valve does not require an adapter for installation and operation but needs only a 2" clearance area. A hex key wrench is included in the package.
