The BPV Series Bullet® piercing valves are designed to fit O.D. tubing sizes of 1/2" and 5/8". These valves utilize a gasket similar to those found under the heads of most air conditioning compressors. Upon installation, the gasket compresses the copper tubing by .020", creating a permanent, leakproof seal that can withstand any pressure and temperature for the unit's lifespan. The patented valve gasket application offers 50 times more sealing area compared to competitive "O" ring types, delivering a sealing force exceeding 180 lbs. The valves are torque tested at 500 lbs. and pressure tested at 250°F. The precision piercing needle is specifically engineered for concentricity and hardness, ensuring perfect seating on every use. The design is non-positional, eliminating the need for an adapter valve, and requires only a 2" clearance area for installation and operation. A hex key wrench is included with the kit.
