The kit features a smooth 12 gauge steel top reinforced with angle iron on the underside and gussets in the corners, providing exceptional strength and rigidity. The legs and lower braces are constructed from 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" x 3/16" thick angle iron, and the legs have 2" square footpads with a 9/16" hole for mounting to the floor. These all-welded units ship fully assembled and are ready for immediate use, with an overall height of 36". A 1/4" hardboard surface is attached directly over the 12 gauge steel top, which helps to deaden the sound of heavy blows and metal-to-metal contact. The hardboard surface is more forgiving than steel, protecting parts during use.
