Invar® 36 alloy rods, bars, plates, and sheet are available from Professional Plastics, featuring a controlled expansion alloy with an expansion rate approximately 10% that of standard carbon steels. This alloy, also referred to as "Alloy E 36" or simply "Alloy 36," ranks second to Super Invar in terms of having the lowest coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) available. It is important to note that recent testing has indicated that increased hardness can lead to a decrease in CTE across all temperature ranges in Invar alloys.
