The kit features heavy-duty construction designed for drilling in tougher materials, manufactured from premium high-speed steel. It includes drill bits with a 135 P3 split point, which is self-centering for reduced thrust and easier penetration; however, sizes smaller than .0625" do not have a split point. The black oxide surface finish enhances wear resistance and adds lubricity, which improves chip flow, making it suitable for drilling in stainless steel, tool steel, alloy steel, and cast iron.
