Used to determine proof of ethyl alcohol spirits, these hydrometers are available in various ranges from 0 to 206%. They feature a 300mm (12") long lead-free ballast and are constructed of glass in accordance with the standards of the Bureau of Internal Revenue, U.S. Treasury Department. The tolerances for these hydrometers conform to those outlined in Circular 555 of the National Bureau of Standards, with each hydrometer being individually serialized for testing. The temperature standardization is set at 60°F (15°C), and each unit is hand inspected by our U.S. quality team. The hydrometers are packaged with a multi-language statement of accuracy in English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish, indicating accuracy that is traceable to NIST. It is important to note that hydrometers should be stored in a clean, dry, safe place and should not be exposed to extreme temperatures.
