Made from optical quality polycarbonate material, these plain form hydrometers are designed for environments where rough handling or contamination could pose a risk, particularly in the food or beverage industries. They are durable and shatterproof, available in models measuring specific gravity/relative density (g/cm³) of various liquids within ranges from 1.0 to 1.620. Each hydrometer features an easy-to-read black scale on a yellow background to reduce eye fatigue and measures 300mm (12") in length. The hydrometers have a lead-free ballast and are individually serialized, with temperature standardization set at 60°F (15°C). They undergo hand inspection by the U.S. quality team and are packaged with a multi-language statement of accuracy, indicating traceability to NIST. Additionally, these products are made in the USA. It is important to note that polycarbonate hydrometers are not recommended for use with petroleum-based liquids or other corrosives that could potentially damage the plastic material; they should be stored in a clean, dry place away from extreme temperatures.
