The hydrometers are designed to determine the proof of ethyl alcohol spirits, available in various ranges from 0 to 206%. Each hydrometer measures 300mm (12") in length and features a lead-free ballast, constructed from glass in accordance with the Bureau of Internal Revenue and the U.S. Treasury Department standards. The tolerances for these hydrometers are based on the guidelines specified in Circular 555 of the National Bureau of Standards. Each unit is individually serialized for testing purposes and is standardized at a temperature of 60°F (15°C). The hydrometers are meticulously hand inspected by our U.S. quality team and are packaged with a multi-language statement of accuracy that includes English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish, ensuring traceability of accuracy to NIST. It is important to store hydrometers in a clean, dry, safe place and to avoid exposure to extreme temperatures.
