The ultrasonic thickness gauge features a backlit LCD display and is designed for measuring the thickness of various ultrasonic conductive materials. The R7900 has a measuring range of 0.03 to 15.7 inches (0.65 to 400 mm) and is capable of measuring metals, plastics, ceramics, composites, epoxies, glass, and other similar materials. This device is equipped with user-selectable units of measurement (inches or millimeters) and boasts an internal memory that can store up to 500 measurements. Additional attributes include the ability to display sound velocity at the touch of a button, a zero adjustment button, user-adjustable high/low alarms, a built-in two-point calibration function, and features such as auto sleep, shut off, and a low battery indicator. In terms of accuracy, the gauge offers ±0.04 mm for thicknesses less than 10 mm, ±(0.1% RDG. + 0.04 mm) for thicknesses less than 100 mm, and ±(0.3% RDG.) for thicknesses greater than 100 mm.
