The CSI Kit utilizes a specialty blue light paired with orange filter goggles to efficiently highlight proteins from bed bugs, blood, feces, caste skins, and eggs, making it suitable for forensic sciences and bed bug inspections. This kit significantly reduces inspection time by using blue light to bring latent signs and other physical evidence of infestation into view. The kit comprises one blue high-intensity rechargeable flashlight, one pair of orange filter premium goggles, one pair of needle nose forceps, three specimen 4x magnifiers, a live hinge carrying case, and one bed bug specimen life cycle ID disc. The blue LED flashlight features a lifespan of approximately 11 years and is constructed from aerospace-grade aluminum with a tempered Pyrex lens; it meets MIL-SPEC Type III hard-anodized standards and has passed shock testing with a drop test of ten feet. The included rechargeable battery is designed to last for about 300 hours without a significant decrease in power output. The bed bug life cycle disc provides a clear illustration of actual eggs, nymphs, and both female and male adults for quick reference. Replacement components are readily available.
