The MTC Bio line of bacteriological spreaders has been expanded to include four different shapes and sizes, specifically the L-shape, T-shape, and two triangle shapes (large and small). All versions are supplied in sterile packaging and feature smooth, rounded edges to prevent unwanted cutting, scraping, or gouging of agar during inoculation. The L-shape spreaders are made of ABS and are designed for spreading bacteriological cultures evenly, allowing the user to rotate and apply easily throughout an entire round plate or dish, with a slight upward curve at the edge to prevent dragging or scraping. The T-shape spreaders ensure consistently even pressure can be applied across the 34mm spreading surface and are also made of ABS, commonly used for CFU plate counts on water, milk, and urine. The triangle shapes, designed for CFU count applications, feature a grooved handle for improved grip and orientation, made from polypropylene, and are available in a 30mm span or an extra large 60mm span. All models are presterilized, eliminating the need for flaming, and are ideal for spreading cultures and liquids evenly while minimizing gouging.
