The Topog-E® Series 180 gasket is designed to withstand a maximum pressure/temperature rating of 180 psi (12 bar) for steam at temperatures up to 380°F (193°C) and 200 psi (14 bar) for water, condensate, air, and other applications at temperatures up to 300°F (150°C). This gasket offers excellent resistance to steam, both hot and cold water, and displays good compatibility with alcohols, ketones, phosphate esters, silicone oils and greases, dilute acids, bases, salts, glycols, ammonia, selected refrigerants, and animal and vegetable fats when used per supplier guidelines. However, it is not recommended for use with high concentrations of aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, or petroleum-based oils, fuels, and lubricants. The gasket is suitable for various applications including steam and hot water boilers, water softeners, hot water heaters, steam humidifiers and cookers, water purifiers and demineralizers, refrigeration units, liquid treatment vessels, carbon absorption and filtering vessels, dryer cans in paper mills, water hydrants, mixing tanks, compressed air tanks, and more.
