The Topog-E® series 180 gasket is designed to handle a maximum pressure/temperature rating of 180 psi (12 bar) for steam up to 380°F (193°C) and 200 psi (14 bar) for water, condensate, air, and other media up to 300°F (150°C). This gasket exhibits excellent resistance properties against steam and both hot and cold water, while also demonstrating good resistance to various substances including alcohols, ketones, phosphate esters, silicone oils, greases, dilute acids, bases, salts, glycols, ammonia, selected refrigerants, and animal and vegetable fats, provided it is used in line with supplier guidelines. However, it is not recommended for high concentrations of aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, or petroleum-based oils, fuels, and lubricants. Specific applications for the gasket encompass steam and hot water boilers, water softeners, hot water heaters, steam humidifiers, cookers, water purifiers, demineralizers, refrigeration units, liquid treatment vessels, carbon absorption and filtering vessels, dryer cans in paper mills, water hydrants, mixing tanks, compressed air tanks, various types of dryers, air starters and receivers, deaerators, hatch covers, and water towers and columns, in addition to PVC reactor vessels.
