The Topog-E® Series 180 gasket features a maximum pressure/temperature rating of 180 psi (12 bar) for steam at temperatures up to 380°F (193°C) and 200 psi (14 bar) for water, condensate, air, and similar applications at temperatures up to 300°F (150°C). This gasket offers excellent resistance to steam, both hot and cold water, and exhibits good compatibility with alcohols, ketones, phosphate esters, silicone oils, greases, dilute acids, bases, salts, glycols, ammonia, selected refrigerants, and animal and vegetable fats, provided it is used according to the supplier's guidelines. However, it is not recommended for high concentrations of aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, or petroleum-based oils, fuels, and lubricants. Typical applications for this gasket include steam and hot water boilers, water softeners, hot water heaters, steam humidifiers, cookers, water purifiers, demineralizers, refrigeration units, liquid treatment vessels, carbon absorption and filtering vessels, dryer cans in paper mills, water hydrants, mixing tanks, compressed air tanks, various dryers, air starters and receivers, deaerators, hatch covers, and water towers and columns, as well as PVC reactor vessels.
